Default Kenmore Elite HE3t - Error Code F/dl

    Model Number: 110.42926202
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: 1-5 years

Looking for some help....I have an 18 month old Kenmore Elite HE3t washer. Recently having trouble with error code F/dl. After reviewing other blogs, I opened the access panel and got the error codes list out and determined this is a Door Lock error. When I follow the troubleshooting chart, step 2, Check door switch/lock unit, what exactly am I checking for? When I attempt to start a load of laundry, I can hear it attempt to lock the door 6 times (just like the book says) and then I get the code. Anyone have any ideas I can try before calling the service technician. Thanks.

Check your door when it closes, it should hit a push-in button above that door latch, at times I have seen the door hinge bent down just some, causing the door not to strike that button dead on.

If thats fine, then its likely to be the door latch assembly or the CCU board bad.

    Jake-

Thanks for your assistance. After looking at the door latch assembly further, I found the male plastic fitting (found on the door) that inserts in the latch assembly (on the washer) loose. It had about 3/8" of play to the left and right. I tightened up the screws, placing the male plastic fitting in the middle of range of play. I ran the diagnostics test as per the manual and the washer passed all the tests. I just started my first load of laundry since the problem began and it worked fine. It appears that due to the play in the plastic fitting on the door, the washer was unable to lock the door. Hopefully this might help some other people out there with the same error code.

    Thanks again for your assistance,
    Chuck

    Default F DL error

When I bought my machine over the phone I was told they would send me the paperwork, including manuals/warrantess. I never got any of it. I now have the error listed in this thread. I tries the same process to no avail. I don't have the error codes or the schematic to troubleshoot. Any ideas or links would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Your service guide is located inside the bottom of your washer, you have to open that lower access panel off, it has 3 torx screws at the very bottom of your machine. That panel pulls forward and down, then you will see it mounted on the right side taped to that inner panel.
