Default Kenmore Elite Calypso Washer Smells

    Model Number: 110.24086200
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: 6-10 years

I have a Kenmore Elite Calypso washer that smells pretty bad when you turn it on. It is as if water is not completely draining out of the machine and uis building up somewhere. I have seen other posts about black marks on clothes but neither my wife or I have not noticed any black marks on any clothes. I hope someone can help with some recommendations. Thank you in advance.

If your washer is still working good and cleaning your clothes fine, then I'd just suggest these washer cleaners:

Washing Machine Cleaner W10135699 Order now for same day shipping. 365 day return policy. RepairClinic.com

Removes built-up soap scum and discoloration due to iron and other water impurities. Also works great in washing machines, porcelain sinks and porcelain tubs. 3 ounce packet.
    Glisten Dishwasher Cleaner and Deodorizer

I have already tried washing it out with vinegar and have tried using similar products with no luck. There has to be water sitting somewhere. When we run the first load after not using the washing machine after a few days there is a smell almost like stagnet water and it smells up the whole washroom and will even penetrate into the clothes and towels.

Ok, then in that case, I'd say pull the tub out and check, seems to me I found lint clogging down under the tub for the drain hole myself on one I had before about 8-10 years ago.

Read the repair manual, it tells you how.

I will try it and let you know what I find. My washer does not look like the one in the manual will it still be the same process to get the tub out or is there another manual?

    Thank You

Yes, Whirlpool made all the Calypso models for Kenmore, the front control panel may look different, but the inside parts are the same.
