Default Quiet Partner II won't drain

    Model Number: DU1100XTPS9
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 6-10 years

Just yesterday, after running a load of dishes, opened the door to find a bunch of dirty water at the bottom that won't drain. When I push the drain/cancel button, I hear the motor running, but it doesn't sound like it normally does - like it's getting air. I've checked for an obstruction and didn't find one. When you take the pump off and turn it on, the fins spin. Any idea what the problem could be?

*If* the drain is good and the drain pump is getting power ( 110-120 volts AC ) the drain pump itself would then be suspect....might run with no water and stall when acually asked to work...
