Default Ice dispenser flap open/close by self - front panel lights flashing - not staying cold

    Model Number: MFI2568AEW
    Brand: Maytag
    Age: 6-10 years

This French-door, bottom freezer just turned 6 years old Sept. 22, 2013. On Sept. 24th, the ice dispenser "flap" started opening and closing on it's own about every 4 seconds. Each time it closed, it made a very loud and annoying "bang". Additionally, the lights on the front face of the the ice maker were blinking and some have eventually just gone out. Both the refrigerator and the freezer are not staying cold. Have had to remove all food.

Have already checked ice dispenser flap for anything that could be lodged there as well as cleaned it. Had to place a small dish cloth inside to keep the flap closed.

    Please advise if possible.

    Thank You,

    Lisa

    HI Jake,
Thanks for this information. After reading through the "Service Manual", there are two "computer boards" for this refrigerator. One being the LV Control Board (part # 67006294) which is located behind the front panel of the ice dispenser. The second is the HV Board (part # 67006389) located at the back of the refrigerator. You indicated that the problem is with the HV Board - the one located behind the refrigerator. I just want to verify that it is indeed the HV Board and not the LV Board.
    Thanks Again!
    Lisa

Ok Lisa, its the H.V Board at the back of your refrigerator. Not the L.V. Board.

The manufacturer has replaced part number 67006389 with part number 12920710

Glad to help, let us know how it goes.
