I purchased a home in May and it came with a Frigidaire upright refrigerator/freezer. Ice accumulates on the food in the freezer. It only takes a week for a bag of frozen vegetables to completely fill with ice. I only open my freezer once or twice a day and I've checked the seal and it doesn't appear to be loose anywhere. I contacted Frigidaire and they said I need a "defrost drain extension kit." I searched on the web but wasn't able to find anything useful about defrost drain extension kits. Do you agree that this is my problem? Is it something I can install/fix myself?

    Hi,

    Model#?

**I contacted Frigidaire and they said I need a "defrost drain extension kit."**

If the refrigerator is a year or two old, that may be needed.

**Do you agree that this is my problem?**

If the old drain is allowing room air to pass into the refrigerator, then the kit should help.

**Is it something I can install/fix myself?**

Probably, the only drainkit I know for the newer style Frigidaire refrigeratorscomes with instructions

    Hi,

That model is a little older....around a 2000 model....that kit may not work on that style....call Frigidaire back to see if they will get you a part# or some more info on what they where talking about!!
