    Question Amana Heat Troubleshooting

Not sure what the terminology is but here we go…

Model - LG8319W2 Not Heating Up.

    Vent clean

    Took front cover off

Thermal Fuse??? (device on exhaust pipe) has 5 each wires connected to it, when I check ohms at the connections opposite each other they zero out and are good but the lone connection does nothing.

The large piping that runs into the drum has 2 electronic devices mounted to it, which both pass the ohms test.

When I start the dryer, the igniter at the end of the gas valve tube glows bright red but no gas is coming from the valve to ignite?

What do ya think? Do I need a new gas valve or is something telling the valve not to open?

    …perplexed

    Hi,

Sounds like the gas coils may be out.

    This link should help:

That part on the exhaust pipe with 5 wires is your cycling thermostat, thats rare to go out, its more likely your coils.

Just received the kit, popped it in and the dryer works like a charm. Thanks again for the diagnosis Jake!
