    Default Kenmore 80 Series Model # 110 66822694

Hi everyone! I have a problem with my Kenmore 80 Series Model # 110 66822694 Dryer. Until recently it worked perfectly. Two nights ago, I was touching up some clothes before pulled them out, and the dryer simply quit?????? The Dryer is getting power just fine, the heating coil if working fine, but the dryer will not turn on and run??? So, if I have the power turned on (the breaker is on), it heats up, but the drum doesn't turn....if I turn the timer knob, I get heat, but pressing the start button does NOTHING!!! Please help if you can, my father and I tried taking the back off to see if maybe a wire was broken, leading to the motor, all wires look fine, but there is NO way to access the motor itself (at least not that we could see). I really don't want to have to buy a new dryer, but if I have no other choice I will.

    Kenmore 80 Series Model # 110 66822694

    Thank you,

    KingD

Also, I forgot to add that when the timer is on, it is NOT moving at all, even though the dryer coil is on.

Sounds like your belt is broken, you hear the motor running and its heating, but the drum isn't turning?

Well I can not hear the motor running! When I had the top off of it yesterday, the belt looked fine? it was snug on the drum so I didn't think that it was broken! If the timer was bad could it cause this?

Oh, this sounds like you have a grounded heating element:

If the heating element was working and the drum wasn't turning, I have never in my 19 years of appliance repair seen the thermal fuse cause that.

The thermal fuse being bad would make nothing work period!

    Maybe I mis-understood the problem.

    Glad you got it fixed.
