Default Detergent not dissolving in washer

I have a 5 year-old Maytag Jet II dishwasher. Lately I've been noticing that the powder detergent I'm using (either "Electrasol" or "Cascade Complete") is not dissolving thoroughly during the normal wash cycle - about 1/2 the powder remains in the cup(s) after the cycle is finished. Also, a small pool of water often remains in the washer after the cycle is complete. I can't find my Owner's Manual to try and troubleshoot the problem. What should I do?

    Hi,

Is the detergent dispenser door opened fully when its done? Then you see half the detergent left over?

    Whats the model#?

Default Same problem with detergent not releasing

    Hello,

We have a similar problem with our mdb7100aww.

The detergent door opens, but it does not get washed into the cycle.

We've looked at the dishwasher, but are unsure of what could be the problem.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Miles

    Hi,

    1. Check the water temperature. Should be 125 to 140 F.
    2. Check pump re-circulation., Listen, see if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.
    3. Check water level when the fill cycle has completed. Should be just under the heating element. If not, possibly need to replace the water inlet valve.
    4. Check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks.
    5. Check to make sure dishwasher is draining after each cycle. There should only be a little water in the bottom of the tub.
    6. Possibly try a different detergent. Some liquid-gels will bubble and a pump cannot pump bubbles.
