Question Maytag Performa Washer will not spin

I have a 3 year old Maytag Performa Washer - Model PAV3360AWW. I have recently had problems with not all of the water draining from a cycle (had to put loads on an extra spin) and begining this afternoon, the washer will not spin. I have checked everything listed in the user manual and things seem to be in order. Any other suggestions?

... more information ... Based on information from other sites, I have checked and it does not seem to be agitating either. Any thoughts / suggestions would be appreciated.

The Belt looks OK - was on correctly and tight. I guess it is something else. I will be calling a repairman tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.

You most likely need a thrust bearing kit #12002213. It consists of the big pulley under the unit and the bearings that help release the brake.

Help!!!! My Maytag Performa Washer will not SPIN!!!!

    Model # PAV1000AWW
    Serial # 12773598UU

I don't know what is causing this, but when it is on the spin cycle, my washer will stop spinning and puts out a burnt smell. When it stops spinning I think it's just because the clothes are throwing it out of balance, so I go and rearrange them and start it up again. However, when it starts it makes a loud buzzer sound like you hear from a dryer and it begins to spin again. Then after a few minutes it stops again and you smell that burnt smell. What could it be? I would appreciate any help.

    Respectfully,

Possibly the motor, but you'll need to tilt the washer back, then take the belt off underneath, then try a spin cycle with no belt on, the motor should run alone, if it still does the same thing, you have a bad motor.

Here's the motor for your model you can order:
    Motor: 21001400

And if the motor does spin? then what might be the problem?

Like I said in your thread you already started, under a load it can make the motor kick-off on overload, that would mean a bad motor as well.
