Thread: Whirlpool washer shakes violently during spin cycle

    My mother-in-law has a top-loading Whirpool washer (Model #LA5550XT). When it goes into the spin cycle, the entire washer begins shaking and walks all around her utility room.

    The basket is not off-balance (we tested it with just a couple of items in the drum). Any ideas?

    Hi,

    Sounds like maybe the suspension pads are bad. Here is some more information on washer walking problems:
