Angry Kenmore Elite Gas Dryer error code e2

    Model Number: 110.70052990
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: 6-10 years

I have a Kenmore Elite Gas Dryer model # 110.70052990. When I turn it on the motor runs for about 1 minute then shuts off with an E2 error. Here are the things I've done to troubleshoot.

    1. Verified the gas unit turns on manually (shorting out the timer relay on the control board). The glow wire turns on and ignites the gas.
    2. Replaced the Control Board with a refurbished unit (no change in error code)

What input to the control board is required to activate the timer relay?

Make sure you have good air flow through the dryer, very important!

If your air flow is good, then the problem is your thermistor, I have changed many of these before due to this problem.

Here is a new thermistor you can order:

    Angry Thermistor Location

I went ahead and purchased the thermistor but now I can't locate it in the machine. I see the thermal fuse and thermal switch on the blower housing. I also see the flame detector and high temp cutout on the gas heater tube. Is there anywhere else I should look?

    Regards,
    Paul

The thermistor is just to the right of your thermal fuse on the blower housing.

Look at this parts diagram: http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_pn...0077-00003.png

#42 is your thermistor, #59 is your thermal fuse.

    Talking All OK

I just replaced the thermistor and tada! It works! Thank you for your patience. I was just hesitant to install something that looked totally different.
