Default GE Profile Dishwasher Start/Control Problems

    Model Number: PDW9280J03SS
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

Sir - I have a GE Profile Dishwasher PDW9280J03SS that is approx. 3yrs old that will not start. When the door closes, it beeps indicating door closure. Only three of the six buttons on the control panel appear to work.

Cycle select up & down buttons - can navigate using either arrow to move through various cycles
    Delay Hours - Doesn't work
    Added Heat - Doesn't work
Heated Dry- Can select and illuminate, can activate/deactive parental lock
    Start/Reset - Doesn't work

I found the summary wiring diagram under the unit and entered the diagnostic mode. All lights on all switches illuminated for 1 sec. I was able to manually active the operation that corresponded to the buttons that worked. But, could not active the respective operation on the buttons that previously didn't work.

Does this sound like a problem in the control circuit board? Is there a internal fuse/surge protection that I can replace reset (couldn't find any on the wiring diagram)? I think the control unit has a 5yr war on parts, but not labor?

Thanks for any help/insight you can provide!

Yes, its possible that your control module or keypad assembly is bad. Yes, on your model you have a 5 yr. warranty on electronic parts, you just pay labor.

I have the same problem with my dishwasher....Is there a way for me to detect which is the problem? The control module or the keypad assembly. It can get pretty expensive just replacing them both just to be sure I fixed the problem...lol
