    Default Kenmore 665 dishwasher problem

Hi!! I am soo happy i found this site I just bought this dishwasher from a customer of my husbands. he said he never used it it is only 2 years old and looks squeaky clean. we just installed it and it makes an odor maybe burning dust around the motor since it has been storred in his garage, it fills with water that is hot but if i open the door the heating element is not hot to touch. the dishwasher will hum like its running but leaves no evidence it cleaned anything the soap tablets dont even disolve it does drain, but when it runs through a cycle it only runs for about 15 min. and then the clean button blinks 7 times, i reset it with the sani rinse heated dry combo, but it still didnt clean the dishes. What should be my next coarse of action? im a little weary to run it again with that odor. Thanks for your time.

Whats the complete model# of your dishwasher? its located inside the door.

Here is a thread on the clean light flashing 7 times:

Pull your dishwasher out, and look behind the motor, its possible one of the two wire connections on the motor capacitor came loose while moving it, that would cause the humming sound and no motor movement.

    Red face 665 dishwasher problem

    Jake,
Thanks for your speedy reply. my modle # is 665.16022401. I cant wait to pull the dishwasher out but i am going to wait until my husband comes home. I did reset the blinking clean light and it seems to be fine now i am hoping a wire came off since it was a tight squeeze getting the dishwasher into its spot!!! the water is heating ok and its filling and draining fine it is just not spinning or moving the water. Thanks for all your Help!!!

Sounds good, Was your husband able to pull it out to check for a loose connection on the motor capacitor?
