Default Kenmore power miser 8 -need advise-

    Hi,

I am first timer and have a problem. I have a kenmore miser 8 running for two years. Recently when I turn on the cold water on any faucets in my home, cold water come out for 2 seconds and then the water turns into warm for 10 seconds before turning back to cold.

My plumber said it has to do with a backflow device in the supply risers are not closing all the way causing the problem. However, a technician from Sears came to my house the other day said there is no such device in the Kenmore miser 8. I am stucked in between the plumber says it's a water heater problem and the water heater guy says it's a plumbing problem. Don't know how to correct this problem. Help!

I'm not sure myself. Is this gas or electric?

Whats the model# of your water heater? Its located on the outside of your tank.

It didn't do this last summer? Did you notice this start happening as the weather turned hotter outside?

I don't see any back-flow device on this model either.

I'm not sure why this is happening, hopefully another tech. or member that has seen this issue before can shed some light on it.
