USAF retired is on a distinguished road
Default Washer pump head ft.

My wife would like me to relocate our laundry room to our basement. The wiring, water supplies, and drier vent pose no problem, however, the floor drains in the basement do not tie into the septic system and merely dump any emergency water leaks over the hill onto the backyard. Obviously I dont want to constantly dump the "gray water" onto the surface of the yard

My question is: How high will a washing machine pump water? My measurements show the closet septic drains at about seven feet above the basement floor. If I use a check valve to prevent a backflow condition would this work? or should I go with a seperate sump and pump set up to pump the water up to the septic tank?

Thanks,

Randy , USAF Retired
