Default bradford white with small leak need help fast

I have a Bradford White MI40T6EN12 water heater.

from the model number i know it is a 6yr tank Warranty. from the s/n it was made nov 2000.

i have a small leak. can't tell where from yet. right now it drips just below the opening to the pilot. drips once every 3-8 sec. I don't think the tank is bad....only 7 years old.

where else should i look? can the cover come off or be liffted so that i can more?

also a important note. if i turn off the water to the house the drip stops. that is the other reason i don't think it is the tank.

i'm also looking for the manual.....anyone know where i can find it?

Hi,

Check where your plumbing comes into the tank to see if its leaking there, you would notice water on top if so thats leaking down either the sides or internally.

When I worked for Sears, all the Kenmore water heaters were very reliable.

Rheem & Ruud are good too.
