Angry Duet Sport Washer

My old Maytag dryer went out after 15 years of dependable service in June. Decided at that time to not only replace the dryer, but to get a new and improved front loading washing machine at the same time. Thought I'd be doing a good thing by using less water, etc. So ... I purchased the Whirlpool Duet Sport. I've had the machine just over two months and have already had two service calls on it. I'm not a happy camper at this point.

Latest call shows that the concrete counter weight is broken. Technician says he has never seen that. I'm wondering if I have a lemon. It now appears that I must wait 10 days for a repair. For a busy mom of three young, active kids ... that is not an appealing prospect. What I'm asking myself today is ... why, oh why, did I get rid of my old trusty machine (had no service calls in 15 years!), and replace it with a machine made by a company that doesn't put it's customer service first. Apparently, I must wait until my machine is not repairable to get a new one. Meanwhile I'll be at the laundrymat, fuming that I ever got involved with Whirlpool.

Well the regular Duet washer is made in Germany and is a very nice washer, now these smaller sports are made in Mexico I think, not sure, and seem to be having more problems than the normal Duet.....wish you had asked us first before you bought it... ...so sorry for your problems, I have the full sized Duet washer, no problems with it for over 5 years now.
