My old Maytag dryer went out after 15 years of dependable service in June. Decided at that time to not only replace the dryer, but to get a new and improved front loading washing machine at the same time. Thought I'd be doing a good thing by using less water, etc. So ... I purchased the Whirlpool Duet Sport. I've had the machine just over two months and have already had two service calls on it. I'm not a happy camper at this point.
Latest call shows that the concrete counter weight is broken. Technician says he has never seen that. I'm wondering if I have a lemon. It now appears that I must wait 10 days for a repair. For a busy mom of three young, active kids ... that is not an appealing prospect. What I'm asking myself today is ... why, oh why, did I get rid of my old trusty machine (had no service calls in 15 years!), and replace it with a machine made by a company that doesn't put it's customer service first. Apparently, I must wait until my machine is not repairable to get a new one. Meanwhile I'll be at the laundrymat, fuming that I ever got involved with Whirlpool. |

Well the regular Duet washer is made in Germany and is a very nice washer, now these smaller sports are made in Mexico I think, not sure, and seem to be having more problems than the normal Duet.....wish you had asked us first before you bought it...
...so sorry for your problems, I have the full sized Duet washer, no problems with it for over 5 years now. |
