Question KA Micro/Oven Combo Meat Probe just comes on

We purchased this unit in 2002 and have had issues with it since we bought it.

The meat probe indicator will decide to come on in the middle of cooking something and then shuts down the oven. The worst part is it takes forever to clear the indicator.

We had a technician look at it and his diagnosis was the meat probe recepticle is dirty from grease, steam, etc. The recepticle was replaced and within weeks this problem reappeared. Not only that it has begun to display the meat probe indicator when ever it feels it should (no human contact).

The appliance repair facility is insistant that the problem with the meat probe stems from a "Design Fault".
