    Default dryer

    Model Number: WED8300SW2
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

    we replaced the thermistor, hi limit, and thermal fuse........the vents are cleaned....and now the dryer gets too hot and clothes cannot be touched what could the problem be now?

    Put it in the Air Dry/Fluff cycle and see if it still gets hot, if so your element has grounded to the heater housing.

    Jake..........I put it on the air dry only and heating element stays on.....we checked the element....it is good ...so now what....

    Did you use a multimeter to ohm the element to the heater housing to see if the numbers change?

    The heater element has to be grounding to the heater housing, thats the only thing that would cause this issue.

    Watch this video to test it, then put one meter probe on each element terminal to the metal heater housing and see if the numbers change.
