Whirlpool ultimate care II Washer will not operate after fill and cannot select cycle manually
Brand:
Whirlpool
Age:
1-5 years
Washer fills ok based upon level selected, then sometimes starts washing and then stops during wash and sometimes during drain, rinse, or spin. If you try to select another cycle on timer to get it to run, 99 percent of time you cannot as it is dead. If it is in any cycle and you lift the lid and reclose it, it does not resume operating...it is dead.
I replaced the timer and LID SWITCH to no avail, same thing. I manually bypassed lid switch, even though I hear audible click from lid switch, and get the same results. The diagram in washer says neutral terminates at motor from lid switch. Could I have bad motor??? Sometimes motor runs fine aggitating, spinning, etc. I can set auto sense to on or off and get the same results. Water temp works fine. Motor is very expensive and wash is building up quick.

Hi,
even though I hear audible click from lid switch
"Click" noise means nothing!

Kinda sounds more like the motor is shutting off on it's built in safety/thermal switch...after cooling down the switc hwill reset and the motor can run again but often cannot run right away after shutting off.
