Whirlpool Cabrio oil splatter and belt broken melted into plastic guard.
Brand:
Whirlpool
Age:
1-5 years
My washing machine was making a loud dry bearing sound on the spin cycle but then it stopped working. I tilted the machine over to look underneith and there was oil spatter everywhere and the belt was broke and burnded through the belt shield on one side. I know it has to be a bearing but my question is, how do you take it apart? I removed the top of the washer and removed the tub ring, impeller but how do you remove the basket assembly? Do i need some kind of a puller?

Yes, sounds like you have two issues, the tub bearing and the gearcase.
Outer tub assembly:
Manufacturer's Number: W10193886
Gearcase:
WHIRLPOOL W10324649 Gearcase, AP4560983 | AppliancePartsPros.com
You would have to go by the repair manual to replace these parts.
Here's the repair manuals for the Cabrio's models.
Cabrio washer with 6th sense:

Cabrio washer:

You can look over the manual for your model and see if its something you can do yourself, its a big job, but if you've done other repairs like this for other things, then you can most likely do it yourself.
