Unhappy Whirpool Calypso Washer problem..Please help!

    Model Number: GVW9959K02
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 6-10 years

Hello! I have a Whirpool Calypso washing machine that shows the SL code. It gets hung up in the rinse/spin and nothing I do has helped. I came on here and googled it and found they had updated the pump/motor assembly. I have bought and installed this new assembly but am still having the problem. Please help!

Also need to check the sump in the rear of tub with flash light... (for objects blocking the check balls.. I have gotten in the habit now to check the sump every time I go for just the annual check up... you would not believe the amount of bra wires you can find in there..

So remove the pump assembly then I've used a small coat hanger with a small tip to fish out larger debris from that holding reservoir. Never know what you may find.

On the drain hose portion is a checkvalve built into the hose. Check it for restrictions or debris as well.

Post back and let us know what you find.

    Talking Fixed it..finally!

Thank you for your help, Jake!! I took the hoses apart and found a bent paper clip blocking one hose. I put it back together but it still wouldn't work. I was excited at one part because I thought I found a rubber ball that was causing the problem but then smacked myself when I realized that was the check ball. HA ha. So last night I looked again and the lighting was just right to show an obstruction in the drain hose (the only hose I didn't take apart). This morning I took that last hose apart and I found an underwire to a bra just like you said! I can't thank you enough for your help and I'm glad I didn't just give up and buy a new washer! Hopefully this one will last a few more years! My husband and friends are even impressed that I fixed it myself. Thanks again..you rock!
