I received the new timer, installed it, and the washing machine still stops after filling and washing the first cycle. It doesn't drain and go thru rinse or spin. I'm baffled!

Thats odd, the timer should have fixed it.
Now when you close your lid, do you hear a clicking sound just before your lid closes? Possibly a intermittent lid switch issue. Jake

I made sure the lid closed, and clicked, and was able to have full load of wash complete. Now, what do I do with the new timer? Possible to return it? Looks like I may need a lid switch instead!
