Default Kitchenaid Superba gas dryer does not seem to work.

Hello all
I am a new member and have seen some excellent guidance on this site and thought I would ask for some assistance with my gas dryer problems. I have a Kitchenaid Superba Electronic Dryness Control Gas Dryer Model # KGYW777BWHO. Here are the problems:

1) The automatic sensor is not drying the clothing completely. It dos not matter if it is on the less dry or most dry setting it still does not dry the clothing well at all.

2) I tried to use the timer settings to see if that would dry the clothing better and it takes a couple of 60 min cycles before the clothing drys (1/4 load)

I opened the bottom panel on the dryer and the glow plug lights up and ignites the gas so it seems to be working. Could you please help me troubleshoot this problem? Thank you

Hi,

I would clean the lint out of the vent. Also remove the blower housing in the dryer and clean the lint out.

Yes, I would suggest the same as AJ, also pull your dryer away from the wall, then take the exhaust hose off completely, then run a load and see if its better.

Vent restrictions are the No.1 factor for poor/long drying times.

Thanks for all of the advice. I took the unit apart and vacuumed out all of the airflow channels and cleaned off all of the sensors. Turned on the unit and it still was experiencing problems and then it hit me I should check the outlet outside. And there was the problem...someone pushed the protective sceen in and it blocked the exhaust flap from opening. Now I have dry clothing! Thanks for the suggestions, definately helped me connect the dots.
