Default Whirlpool Dryer GEW9250PW1 will not turn on

Model Number: GEW9250PW1
Brand: Whirlpool
Age: 1 -5 years

I have a 3 year old electric dryer that started with this problem recently. The dryer will not turn on (no lights on the display / will not start). The drum light will come on, but that is it. If I shut off the circuit breaker feeding the dryer for a while and then turn it back on, the dryer will work for a couple of cycles. Then back to the same problem.
Thanks for any help,
Bill

Hi Bill,

Sounds like a possibly loose ribbon cable connection or the control board/control panel is bad.

Here is the online repair manual for the Whirlpool Duet dryer:
http://www.applianceblog.com/manuals/Duetdry.pdf
Give it time to download. Page 6-3 is the trouble shooting section. Then page 4-4 shows you how to remove the control panel touchpad assembly.

Here's the control panel touchpad user interface for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8558753

Here's the control board for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8546219

Here's a thread I found thats similar to your issue, and the new user interface fixed it:
