Question Whirlpool Mod # LSR5233AN0 has no agitiate

The washer will not agitate, although there is a power hum from the motor. When the timer is manually advanced to rinse it will pump the water out and spin, but still no agitate. Manually advanced to spin, it will also pump out the water and spin. It does this on all three wash options. I am leaning to a bad low speed winding in the motor, but would like a second opinion first. As always, your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Yes, its likely the motor.

Did you take the motor off and try to run it in agitate on the floor without it being connected to the motor coupler and water pump?

Manufacturer part number 389248 is RepairClinic item number 769

Good morning Jake. Now why didn't I think of that? I guess maybe that's why I like this site so much and your great insight into the obvious. I'll try that today and let you know how it turns out. Thanks again.

Well the motor worked when it was on the floor. The coupler was badly worn, but not broken and since it worked on the spin I would not have thought it unserviceable on the agitate cycle, but that seems to have been the case. I replaced the coupler and it's running properly now. Thanks so much for your help Jake.
