Default GGW9200LW1 error code 39

I own Whirlpool Duet Dryer (model GGW9200LW1). Getting code 39 from diagnostic mode. Thought it was door switch so I replaced it but still doesn't work.

The reason I thought it was a door switch is because I jumped the door switch and the code returned to 88. That stopped working, so now I'm stuck.

Here's the tech. data sheet for your model:
https://www.servicematters.com/docs/...%208541834.pdf

Did you check your thermal fuse for continuity?

Unplug or turn off the breaker to your dryer before opening it up.

Your thermal fuse is located on the blower wheel housing#59 here:

You would need to take off the lower front access panel under your door, then take off the duct assembly#45.

You would ohm the thermal fuse with an ohm meter for continuity to see if its good or bad. Or jump it just to see if your dryer comes on just to test it. Don't run it jumped for a cycle, very dangerous.

Here's the thermal fuse for your model you can order:
Part number for that fuse is 3392519
3392519

Report back what you find.

If your thermal fuse is good, then its possibly your control board.

Here's the control board for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8546219

Yes, I jumped the thermal fuse with no success. Would you say the next step is swap out the control board? I'd hate to spend the much without being pretty sure that's the problem.

Ok, then yes, sounds like the control board.

So what happened before the error code 39? Can you not clear the error code 39 at all now? Even if you leave the machine unplugged overnight?

We have a special return policy here when you order the parts through the links we give you, if you install the part or parts and it doesn't fix the problem you can un-install it and return it for a FULL refund within 30 days.

Was getting error 39 before (intermittently), but it would clear when I jumped the door switch. That's why I ordered a new switch.

I installed the new switch and it ran for about a week without any trouble, but now I can't clear the 39. I assume that the trouble free week was just a coincidence with installing the new switch.

I'll try leaving it unplugged for a while and report back.

Ok, yes, leave it unplugged for awhile, then let me know what happens.

Just plugged it in after 4 hours. It's working (for now). Code 88 when entering diagnostic, 39 when door is open, but returns to 88 when shut. I assume that's normal even though the door open code is not listed as 39 in the manual.

This is how it behaved before and would sometimes stop mid-cycle with code 39. Unless you have any further suggestions, I'll refrain from posting until it acts up again.

Ok, then its likely the control board, order the new control board.
