Default [FIXED] Not sure where the leak is

I've got a Whirlpool LSR7010PQ0 Washer.

When it runs, I'm getting a slow leak. I expected hose problems, but can't find any, either in the hoses or at the connections. When I tilt the machine enough to look under, the water seems to be dripping from where the two drain hoses come together, at a white opaque plastic piece that seems to be attached to a motor, (therefore the pump?). The white plastic piece has two snap on retaining clips that seem to hold two halves together. I got these clips loose, expecting to find a bad gasket of some sort, but the clips didn't seem to release anything. I can only see the bottom of this part, so it's hard to tell exactly how it looks or what's going on.

I don't feel any dampness on the hoses or at their connection points.

I guess my biggest questions are; how do I get to this part, is it likely to be my problem, and how do I tell? I've never worked on a washer before. Do I have to find a way to run it while I can look under it? Seems like there's got to be an easier way.

Any advice on how to approach this problem would be great. Thanks.

Ok, your water pump is leaking. On your model the whole cabinet comes off, then you can get good access to the pump from the front. Once the pump clips are off, you just pull the pump forward and it will come off the motor shaft. Take the 2 rubber hoses off it first, get some old towels, as some water will come out.

Here's how to remove the cabinet:

You have the screws on the back of the console here:

Once you remove those to screws, the console will pull forward and up and tilt it back on its hinges.

Here's the water pump for your model you can order:

Let us know how it goes.

The part came in, it was quite easy to replace, and it works great, no leaks.

It's interesting that the old leaking pump seemed to have been repaired. There was a thick black sealant on the white plastic, opposite where the pump motor connects, and it was marked with a "K" . I bought the washer new, so I assume the part failed Quality Control, was sealed at the flaw, and installed anyway.
My son took a picture of the old part, I'll post it when I get it.

Thanks again for your help. Daniel

Excellent Daniel, good job fixing it.

Thats interesting about your old pump, never seen one come from the factory patched up before.
