Default Whirlpool WED5530SQ0 Starting problems

We've started having problems with this dryer getting it to start. We shut the door and press start but nothing happens. We have to open/close the door several time to get it to start. It sound like a switch that interacts with the door. Any help will be appreciated.
Bob
