Default relay push to start

I have a Whirlpool dryer LHI 9801. When I turn it on the touchpad lights blink but nothing works. All the parts in my dryer were checked and it seems the relay push to start does not work. The part, 690105, is no longer available and I've checked every where. Even started looking for refurbished or used machines thinking I could buy the whole top console. Please advise as to whether I can substitute any part that is available, or any part can be adapted in it's place. It would be a shame to retire this pristine clean machine because of a broken start switch(and I really want to keep it and make it work). Any ideas you offer will be helpfull.

Hi,

I would start by checking with some of your local appliance parts stores in your town, they are very helpful.

Thank you - but can any other type of relay, or part from another machine be adapted to work my whirlpool? I don't need all the bells and whistles on the touch pad, just really one button to get machine to start.

It **might** be possible to adapt something.....we would need to see your wiring diagram. Can you scan it and post it here?

The wiring diagram for the push to start relay is not on the machine. The machine was here when I moved in and my repairman said it was taken off in the past. What can I do now?
