Door Ice Maker Not Dispensing
Brand:
Whirlpool
Age:
1-5 years
I have a Whirlpool Conquest SxS which recently refuses to dispense any ice. There is no sound when the ice dispenser lever is actuated. The water dispenser works fine.
I used the in-door ice system manual so graciously provided by this forum but I've noticed some discrepancies between the manual and my ice system. Suspecting that the dispenser motor may be faulty, I removed the panel and discovered that while the manual indicates 5 or 6 wires going to the motor, mine only has four. The wiring is as follows...
Pin Color
- Brwn/Wht
- Red/Wht
- nc
- nc
- Gray
- nc
- Blue
I get 115VAC when measuring between the Blue and the Gray (pins 5 & 7) when the ice lever is pushed but I get a DC voltage which jumps around .5 VDC and 2.3VDC on pins 1&2.
Does this sound like a bad motor? Also, where is the rectifier located?
Thanks for any help you can offer,
Robert

Hi Jake: Motor was just frozen. A quick thaw and a drying out solved the problem. I have ice through the door again;-)
Thanks again,
Robert
