Whirlpool Gold no lights in fridge help
Brand:
Whirlpool
Age:
6-10 years
Hi
My fridge works fine other than no lights in the non freezer side and temperature control does not light up. New bulb did nothing. Checked door switch for continuity and it works as it should.
What else should I check? Any other switches I should be aware of? or fuses?
Thanks

That Q should be a G.
Then it pulled up.
The problem is your control board, it will need to be replaced.
Here's the control board for your model you can order:
Manufacturer's Number: W10135090

W10135090
Unplug your refrigerator first! Just pull your refrigerator out from the wall and take off the lower back access panel and you will see the control box on the right side.
Its #18 here, located in the back of your refrigerator inside the control box#19:

Let us know how it goes.

Jake -
thanks for the reply.
Before I buy it, is there any way to check the old board? i have a digital Volt/ohm/amp that I use on about anything. Do you have a schematic with the output terminals and what they should read?
Thanks
Paul

Nope Paul, no way to check it that I'm aware of.
Don't worry the new control board will fix it, I've replaced a few of these same control boards and it always fixed it, and other members here have done the same.

Jake,
Thanks for the great information and I will order the board and advise.
Another issue which I am not sure if its related has popped up as the temperature dropped outside. When the compressor kicks on, there is a pumping sound that starts and then stops after several minutes. Its loud enough to be an irritant, and only seems to occur when cold outside. The Refrig is against a wall that backs up to the garage which is insulated. Is this due to lack of temperature control, or a bushing thats gotten cold and split?
Any ideas to resolve would be helpful.

That just sounds like normal compressor sounds, don't worry about that, as long as it still cools fine your ok.

I have a whirlpool gold SxS as well and I have the same issue (no lights, no digital display, nothing) except that I also have a weird clicking noise but only when I open the door. It seems like the sound is coming from the part labeled eecon tsd-115/127v 60hz. Just not sure why no lights of any kind in frig. Please help
