    Default whirlpool fridge

    Model Number: ed25pqxdn01
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: More than 10 years

My Whirlpool fridge will sometimes run by itself and other times I have to tap on the "control box" in order to get it to run. Other times, tapping on it doesn't work at all so I have to turn the tiny slotted dial which seems like a timer using a screwdriver. When it does run it does cool properly in both the freezer and fride. It's getting it to start all on it's own that's the problem. What could be wrong with it? Thermostat? Timer module? Help! Thanks...

    Hi,

Could be either/or/both....I'd change out both and be done with it.

whirlpool fridge-defrost-timer-482493-00928706.jpg Defrost timer kit, 8 hour, replaces most/instructions included Manufacturer part number 482493

whirlpool fridge-temperature-control-2198202-00632606.jpg Refrigerator/freezer thermostat Manufacturer part number 2198202

    Neither are very expensive
