Whirlpool ED2PHEXMQ00 - freezer not cooling

My mother's Whirlpool side by side freezer just stop working. All the food was defrosted in the freezer section. She found water on the kitchen floor coming from the freezer. I turned off the water supply and removed the ice maker tray. The ice in the tray was also defrosting. I hear a fan running but did not have tools to remove the back. I cleaned the bottom of the refrigerator to make sure the coil was clear. What could be the problem? The unit has a date code of 10/03. Please help.

Hi,
Some simple things to check....but you will need screwdrivers....
LINK> fridge not cold, Fridges, refrigerators, not cold enough, frost free problems and how to test, noisy fan motors, clicking on and off compressors, door gaskets
We normally start with, what is or is not running.....fans, compressor......observations, frost on the freezer back wall, clicking noises, ect.
