[FIXED] Water dispenser problem
Whirlpool Ultraease side by side, model ED22RFXFN01. The water dispenser started to slow down and now no longer dispenses water. We replaced the water filter but the problem persists. The ice maker works with no problems. What should I look for? Thanks!

Hi,
Heres the parts diagram for your model:
ED22RFXFN01
Diagram#7 part location#10 is your inlet water valve thats on the back of your refrigerator when your refrigerator out from the wall.
Unmount that part and then take off the plastic tubing underneath it that goes to your water dispenser, its usually the larger of the 2 plastic water lines, then get a container to put underneath your water inlet valve, then have someone press the water dispenser lever in front, if no water comes out, then your water inlet valve is bad.

Similar water dispenser problem
Whirlpool model # ED5GHGXMQ00
The water dispenser just stopped dead at some point. The ice maker continues to function properly. From looking at previous posts it seems that most people have at least a hum indicating that the pump is operating; I have no hum.
I'm wondering if this might be a bad switch rather than a water inlet problem. That might be "preferrable", as the frig is set in a cabinet and would be a pain to pull away from the wall. How can I check for a problem "up front" behind the dispenser panel first?

This sounds like you have a broken dispenser bracket, this thread explains it all, and has the part you can order in it:

That's it!
You hit the nail right on the head! As soon as I popped off the outer cover (BTW, for anyone reading - don't stick the screwdriver too far inside. It's actually a shallow retainer. If you go too deeply, you're tugging on the bracket itself, which makes it seem harder than it is.) a plastic pin fell out. A second was held on only by a hair. I've taped the switch (#14) & the ¿spacer? (#24) to the main plate (#15) which is what needs to be replaced.
Thanks for the help.

It has been awhile! Since the ice maker always worked on our Ultraease ED22RFXFN01 we put off the repair to the water dispenser. However this weekend water suddenly started flowing freely from the water dispenser. Unplugging the fridge didn't help, I had to shut off the water supply. When you push the paddle on the front you can hear a hum which has me thinking that the solenoid on the inlet water valve # 10 in diagram 7 is stuck open. Am I on the right track with this? It is $87.47 + tax so I wanted to make sure before buying.

Yes, sounds like your water inlet valve is bad.
I found it for $54 here:
