Another Whirlpool 365
I tried a search and couldn't find an answer,,
I have a WP 365
Model SF370LEGN
Ser. RJ1212113
Oven not working, the glow bar glows fine but it seems no gas.
Display, good, temp and warmup countdown, good
Stove top good
Broiler good
I looked at the "direct ignition" manual,, but mine has glow bar.
I have multimeters ect so any diagnostic help would be appr.
Thanks,
Tom

Look on the oven safety valve for an amp value. Use a clamp type amp meter around one of the ignitor wires. It needs to pull that many amps to open the safety valve. I'm not sure but I think it's like 3.1 to 3.3 amps. Anything less, replace the ignitor.

Hmmm,, couldn't find value on safety valve,, but found this in manual-----
Lower ignitor resistance increases the current flow through the bimetal coil. When the ignitor is fully
heated, its resistance is low. Low resistance causes maximum current to flow through the bimetal
coil (2.5 to 3.6 amps).-----
Mine peaked at 1.68a,,, (even though it glows bright orange) guessing thats the issue huh?
Going to order the ignitor.
Thanks,
Tom

Yes, there shouldn't be any problems. They are the same ignitor.

The credit goes to redbeardmt, I figured if the igniter was glowing as bright as it was that it would be good. But i doubted the valve was the problem as the broiler worked.
Thanks,
Tom
