oven door won't open after cleaning
I had/have the same problem with my electric Whirlpool Super Capacity 465. After this last cleaning, I had to throw the breaker and wait until the oven cooled down. When I threw the breaker back on, the door opened. What's with these appliances?

Will it work without a motor?
Hey Jake thanks for the info. Im having the same problem. Getting info before I start anything. Access through the back right? Any idea if the oven will work without a motor for the lock latch? I'm planning to unlock it and pull the motor out. As long as the door stays shut its all good.
thanks again,
Mike.

Some you access from the back, some from the top.
Don't remove your lock motor, then you oven wont work at all.

Whirlpool- Fun puzzle, lousy oven.
Hello,
I'm new to this too, hope it works.
I've got a Whirlpool Gold oven (Model # GW395LEPS00).
The door locked shut and the display went out after a self-cleaning cycle.
Power to the oven and display panel are fine.
I half disassembled the thing and jimmied the door open but the locking mechanism is still in 'lock' mode.
I couldn't get any help through whirlpool. I'm thinking to replace the display circuit board and the latch assembly.
If anyone has some input it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Yes, sounds like a bad control board causing this issue.
Its fairly easy to replace, you just unplug the range, then take the back console access panel off, should be about 4-6 screws, then you will see it mounted in with about 4 screws.
Just write down on paper where each electrical connector goes, then its exactly the same on the new one.
Here's the control board for your model you can order here:
Manufacturer's Number: 9760013

Here's the door lock assembly you can order:
Manufacturer's Number: W10195934
