[FIXED] WhirlPool super capacity 465 oven Door will not open after autoclean
I have a Whirlpool Super capacity 465 oven (Model # RF368LXKQ).
After 7 years I finally (and foolishly) decided to use the auto clean feature. When it finished, it displayed FSE1 and started beeping and the door remained locked. After reading a few post it sounds like the locking mechanism needs to be replaced.
Ive tried unpluging the oven then plug it back in, but it still does not unlock and continues to display FSE1. Ive tried restarting the autoclean process then canceling it but that did nothing. I looked through the manaul that came with the oven but its of no use. I was going to see if I could lift the top to see the locking mechanism but there are screws that hold it down and the only way to get to them it to open the oven down which is locked.
Any help on fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Its possibly your lock latch assembly, but I will need the last number after the "Q" at the end of your model#, should be 1 or 2.

Jake,
I doubled checked the model # and there is no number after the Q. RF368LXKQ is all there is, or at least that is all there is on the tag thats on the oven.
However, I removed the back off the oven and found the motor with the arm attached to it. It was easy to move and unlock the door. Does anyone know if there is a fuse somewhere that may have blown or if its not working, then the motor is shot and has to be replaced?

Ok, No there is no fuse, you would just need to replace that latch/motor assembly.
You can order it here:
Manufacturer's Number: W10107830

Good day,
I am new here so excuse me if I make any errors in posting.
I have the same Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 Electric Range with model number RF386PXEQ 0 (zero). I am having that same issue "oven won't unlock after cleaning" Ours displays code E1 F5. Un plugging won't reset it, blah, blah blah (all the same stuff).
The part you offered up to Svernon does not seem to apply to my model and when I go in to repair clinic the only part for a latch is at:
Part 1181731 from RepairClinic.com
Yet, this seems to be only a mechanical device (although the description says it is an electric part).
I can not seem to find any reason that a purely physical / mechanical part would lock up - So is there a relay/sensor that I am not seeing on the parts page (or am I just crazy?)
We absolutely H-A-T-E this oven but it came with the house we bought 3 years ago and I am not in a position to replace it right now.
Any help finding what I need please?
Thank goodness it is still warm and I can cook on the BBQ for another month or two.
Thank you in advance for this forum.
Best,
Dwight

Hi Dwight,
What I usually see is that solenoid go bad and cause it to lock-up. Its located in the very back of your range, behind the back access panel.
Unplug your range first!
This is the solenoid latch assembly for your model you can order here:
Manufacturer part number 3196125 is RepairClinic item number 504706
