Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 - Burner Ignition problem
Hi,
I have a Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 range and the front right, large burner does not work. When the dial is turned to the "light" position, there is no ignition spark to light the gas. The rear burner does have a spark when this is done. Again, just like my question on the Kenmore fridge, is this an easy fix for a novice handyman, or something worth a service call about?
Thanks,
Colin

Hi Colin,
Sounds like a bad igniter. Replacing this can get quite involved, as you would need to remove all the burners and lift the top up to replace it.
Here's the right-front igniter for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8053720

Hi Jake,
Well, if this is involved, and the fridge ice maker is tricky also, maybe getting someone out to do both at once is the best idea.
Thanks,
Colin

Yes, that would be the best thing to do.
