[FIXED] Whirlpool Super Cap 465 Oven/Broiler Doesn't Work
Hello, all! I've got a problem with my 465. The oven and broiler won't start. I've done a search on my model number and only found one thread. It's close to my problem but not the exact same. The controls are functioning properly and, for the broiler at least, the glow bar is glowing. I have 120vac on the connector when I turn on the oven but only 10vac when I turn on the broiler. (see pic). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
On a side note, I'm having problems taking off the main top. I can't get the rear of the top disconnected. Is there a trick to it?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes Mike, from your photo there, you are only testing the bake glow igniter, you have a separate broil glow igniter up above in the top of your oven, which you can test by pulling your range out from the wall and taking the back access panel off.
Now if your getting 120 volts where you show in your photo and the bake glow igniter is not coming on, then you simply have a bad bake glow igniter.
Here's the oven bake glow igniter for your model you can order here:

Thanks, Jake! I'll check the broiler plug tonight. Is this the same part number for the broiler igniter or is there a different one?
Oh, any thoughts on the main top?
Thanks,
Mike

I have to replace 2 of the igniters on the range top and I can't get the rear of the main top off. I have the front disconnected and it comes up about 3-4 inches. The instructions say to push the top to the left and disconnect the hinge pin then do the right. The diagram shows the top lifting up more than I can get it to without forcing it.

you can replace the electrodes without taking the top off. Just take the screws (this can be a bucket of warms if the screws break)out of the burner from which you need to replace the electrode. Lift out the burner install new electrode, feed wire through to back of oven and connect to spark module. Reinstall burner and screws.

Yeah, I was careful with them. They were pretty gunked up, too.
