Default Screwed up my Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 Oven

    Model Number: RF368LXKT0
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 6-10 years

I have a Whirlpool Super Capacity 465, with a model number of RF368LXKT0. I decided to remove the lower heating element in order to clean a mess out of the bottom, and managed to shoot a 6 inch spark in the oven. Decided I should have turned off the breaker, but never even thought about it unfortunately. I have repaired the wiring and connection, but have no power to the stove top elements or to the oven elements. I have power to the control power and control knobs. What else might this have screwed up to prevent the heating of the elements?

All electric ranges have dual breakers, from you said it sounds like one of the dual breakers is still tripped, that would cause a no heat issue, but the lights on the control panel to still work.

I checked my breakers again and reset them, with no luck. I was hoping you were right and it would be that easy, but the search continues. I may pull the oven back out and make sure a wire did not get knocked loose when I was moving it around.

    Thanks Jake!

Oh, and the breaker will definitely be off this time around.

    Ok,

Then you will need a volt meter: Multimeter DM10T Order now for same day shipping. 365 day return policy. RepairClinic.com to check for 240 volts at your power outlet.

Even though the dual breaker is on, it could still be a voltage/wiring issue to the plug that went haywire when it sparked.

220-240 volt 4 prong power plug test for a range

220-240 volt 3 prong power plug test for a range
