Whirlpool Quiet Partner III Stuck at Specific Cycle Time
After 2 years with the Quiet Partner III, we have had a consistent problem with the dishwasher getting stuck at specific times during a wash cycle. For instance, when we run it on "Normal" it gets stuck at 63 mins. If we run it on "Light", it gets stuck at 39 mins. It doesn't happen every time, but enough to drive us bananas. We've had 3 new control boards and that has not solved the problem. Unfortunalety we are passed warranty so the only real solution is to replace it. We've put too much it to it already. Is there something minor and easy to fix that we are missing? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Its possibly your thermistor or thermostat.
Whats the model# of your dishwasher? Its located inside the door.

Whirlpool Quiet Partner III Model No.
The model number is #GU2400XTPS3
Would the thermostat cause the cycle to get stuck and keep repeating itself at the time in a particular cycle? Is this an easy part to replace (cost and labor)? I would like to do the work myself to save money.
Thanks,
Alanna

Yes, but we also need to check your heating element as well. Will it run though any cycle at all, so we can see if your heating element gets hot?
Here's the thermistor for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8269208

Its located under your dishwasher sump.
You have to remove your drain pump first, it tells you how on page#21 here:
https://secured.whirlpool.com/Servic...LE/8178022.pdf
Then on page#22 is tells you how to remove your thermistor.

Sometimes it runs without a problem and then the next time not. When it does run, the "heat dry" option works. Thanks for all the help. We're going to give it a try and see if this fixes the problem. This just frustrates me because 2 different repairmen have come out and couldn't solve the problem. They kept saying it was my control board (That's why I've gone through 3). I'm going to use this forum from now on.
Thanks again,
Alanna

We have everything apart but cannot figure out how to remove the sump base. The thermistor has to be removed from underneath the sump base. How is the sump base attached?
Thanks!

You don't need to remove the sump base, the thermistor just twists and then pulls out from underneath the sump.

I read that and tried to twist and pull out but the base won't fir through the hole. Looking at the part, I don't see how it will pull out from above due to the thermistor base. I can push it through, but it will be under the sump and I won't be able to install the new one. It looks like I have to remove the sump. Maybe I'm missing something. The diagram in the instructions is not quite like mine. I did not have a protector to remove. Do you have any instructions showing how to remove the sump? It's just this one little thing giving me a hang up. Otherwise the process was pretty easy.
Thanks again,
Alanna

I have 2 photos of my set-up. How can I attach them to a response?
