Default [FIXED] Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner IV - control panel issues

Hello,

This may be similar to thread Quiet Partner III Control panel issues

We have a Quiet Partner IV that is 6.5 yrs old, model number GU1500XTKS0. Most of the buttons on the control panel are unresponsive, but "cancel" seems to still work OK.

When pressing "normal" it lights up as well as "refill rinse aid" and then "sensing/soaking" joins in after the other two first light up. Same thing happens when the "quick wash" button is pressed. The lights then blink in unison. Every once and a while only the "sensing/soaking" just lights up, but then all three begin to flash again in unison. Pressing "cancel" stops the lights from flashing.

I left it open last night and closed it this morning and pressed "normal" and it worked for about 10 minutes, then stopped with "73" flashing on the display (it started with 81 minutes).

Also, if I hold the "cancel" button or hit it repeatedly a "2" will flash on the display.

Will a new control panel resolve our issues?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,

Yes a new control panel should fix it all.

What color is your dishwasher control panel? white, black?

Here's the white control panel for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8269465

Here's the black one:
Manufacturer's Number: 8269464

Thanks Jake, that was fast.

We will need to get the black one. Does it come with instruction manual or is there a repair manual online we can reference?

Jake,

There is a control board behind the control panel. It does not appear that this comes with control panel part # 8269464. Is there a possibility that the control board is bad? Or is it pretty definite that the control panel is the culprit based on the symptoms we see?

Thanks again,
Bob

Its pretty definite its just the control panel.

You can always the control board just to be on the safe side, and if you don't need it, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund.

Here's the control board for your model:

Jake,

Got the control panel already, very quick. But...exact same symptoms. So, unfortunately it does not appear to be the control panel. I will need to return the control panel. Is it clear how to do that on the appliance pros website?

So, as to the problem...will the control board fix it or is there some other problem? Is there some sensor or switch that can be bad and cause the dishwasher to act the way it is?
