Default Quite Partner II dead

Model: DU943PWKQ0
Type: 280-2
Dishwasher is about 3 years old. Was making loud splashing sounds on last couple of cycles before it quit (not draining?). Now it shows no sign of life--no lights, no nothin' with water still sitting. After reading this blog, I checked the thermal fuse and it looks intact. Checked house fuse box as well and flipped the circuit to make sure it had not tripped. What might cause the dishwasher to go dead? I'm expecting it to be a fuse, but are there other fuses I should be checking?

Hi,

Did you actually ohm the thermal fuse out with an ohm meter for continuity? Thats the only way to tell if its bad or not, as it won't show any signs of it being bad by just looking at it. Radio Shack has cheap volt/ohm meters if you don't have one.

Here's the thermal fuse for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 675813

Default that was it

Jake, thanks for the quick reply and for clarifying that I would not actually see the bad fuse. I'm used to car fuses where you can see the break in the wire to tell if the fuse is bad. Anyway, I checked it with the ohm meter and can't get a reading so that must be it. I will order the part and report back. If this solves it, you are wonderful!!

Default it worked!

Ordered the part on Sun and it arrived today (Wed). Shipping was more than the part. As I pulled off the wires, I could see that the plastic had melted a bit and a small charred area was made on the circuit board. This made me worried about having the fuse blow again after turning it on. But, everything is working (1 cycle at least). Sure glad it was simple. Thanks a million!
