Default model DU980QPDQ3 won't start, electronic control?

The dishwasher was functioning normally with no hint of a problem, then just stopped working.

It will not start. The control buttons light up, but the pump never comes on.

I tried the recommended diagnostic key sequence of high temp wash, air dry, high temp wash, air dry.

The lights cycle through the various on and off positions and I can even advance them via the pots-n-pans key.

Does this indicate that the electronic control needs replacing?

or the display switch?

http://www.repairclinic.com/referral...=1265&N=524172

or the dishwasher door switch?

Or am i just barking up the wrong tree?

Any thoughts?

Hi,

It sounds like your control board is bad.

Usually if any lights are flashing and it won't start, its the control display panel.

Do the lights on the display go off when you open the door?

Yes. Go off when I open the door, go back on when I close it.

I'm thinking of buying an electronic control panel.

edited to add:

I ordered the part. I don't want to buy the repair manual if I can avoid it. Is the installation straight forward?

Is there a link to a PDF?

I mean, take off the door's torque screws, and? Unplug things, etc. Yes, presuming I unplug the electric cord from outlet.

Ok,

There's not a PDF I could locate for this model, but its pretty straightforward, just remove the inner door liner screws#15 here:

and you will have access inside the console, then unsnap the plastic cover#16 here:

Then you can remove the control board#3 to change it.
