Question F3 Error & Lockout on GBS307PDQ7 oven

Yesterday I experienced a transient malfunnction during baking when the oven beeped, an F3 error was displayed and the oven door locked. I toggled the circuit breaker off/on. No help. Then I turned the breaker off for about 1/2 hour before resetting it. All was normal after that and two later uses were O.K.

However I'd like to be prepared in the event of a repeat problem. I haven't been able to find a Repair Manual. Any advice you can offer would be appreciated as would a link to a Repair Manual.

Hi,

Here's the tech. data sheet on it:
http://www.servicematters.com/docs/w...%204451884.pdf

Did the F3 error code have another code with it? Like E0, E1, E2 or E3?

Thanks for the Tech Sheet.

I think there was an additional code but I don't recall what it was. The oven contents were being cremated at the time and I was focused on trying to get the oven door unlatched.

Best Regards

Ok, keep your eye on it, if it happens again to see the full code.

The malfunction recurred yesterday evening. It showed E2, F3 and "locked" on the display. According to the tech sheet, this is an overtemperature error. Even so, the broiler element was on and wouldn't turn off except at the circuit breaker. The oven door couldn't be unlatched until it cooled and the power turned on. The oven now appears to be working normally.

Suggestions gratefully received.

Also, how is the control panel accessed?

Now when this happened were you broiling or baking? or self-cleaning it?

To access inside your control panel open your oven door then take off the side trim#2 here on each side:
http://content.searspartsdirect.com/...9087-00001.png
I believe it just has one screw on each side holding in the trim, then once the trim is off you will see 2 screws on each side of the bottom of your control panel.

Make sure you turn the breaker off to your oven first.

Its likely your control board, I've replaced several myself for this same error code.

Here's the cheapest one I found for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8186024

Ok, then its likely the control board I posted a link to above.

You can ohm the oven temp. sensor with an ohm meter to make sure. A normal oven temp. sensor should ohm at about 1100 ohms.

The oven temp. sensor is located inside your oven in the back corner, it looks like a probe.

Here's the oven temp. sensor for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: W10131825

Thanks for sharing your advice and experience.

In looking through the other entries in the blog I saw a link to a service manual (job aid KR-30) that you posted for a similar oven. I'd appreciate it if you could provide a link to to a manual that matched my oven.

Regards.

I only found the repair manual for the double oven, couldn't locate one for the single oven.
