I noticed this morning that none of the dishes in my Quiet Partner III (GU2400XTPT3) are very clean. A few on the bottom are clean, but most of them still have pieces of crud on them. I did some research on this forum and elsewhere and here are my findings:
1) When I tried to start a new cycle, the "Clean" light blinked. I went through the instructions to clear it, then I tried pressing "Heated Dry/Sani Rinse/Heated Dry/Sani Rinse" to start the diagnostic mode. It ran through some things and counted down from 12 and then ended.
2) I tried to start a new cycle, but the timer stayed at 63 minutes. I drained it and tried again, and it the timer stayed at a different time. No wash cycle started (but it did make a sound that indicated water was filling).
3) Water fills in the bottom until it is just below the heating element. The heating element gets hot. In fact, the longer I let the cycle go without washing, the hotter the water gets. If I open it after 30 minutes, steam pours out.
4) I went through the instructions to take apart the spray arm, etc. and check the chopping blade. There were a couple of small pieces of food but nothing was blocking it. The check valve was fine, as well.
5) When I try to run a cycle, the bottom fills with water, the soap door opens, and then I hear a buzz/hum. It sounds like the motor is trying to start but it can't.
I have a feeling that I will need a new motor/pump assembly but I wanted to check here before going through with it. If I do, should I have a service technician replace it or is it straightforward enough to take care of on my own?
First check to make sure nothing is caught in the chopper assembly. Here is a parts breakdown for the pump and motor. #6 is the chopper assembly.

Woops, that was the tech sheet for that model. Here is the parts breakdown.

Thanks for the reply. I already checked it and it is clear. It seems like my problem would fall under the category of "Wash Pump Will Not Pump" in the PDF that you posted.

I am back again. I successfully replaced the motor and pump but that didn't solve the problem. It still gets stuck at 63 minutes but now it doesn't fill with water at all. (Yes, I turned the water back on) If I open the door while it is running some steam comes out, but nothing that would clean dishes.
Any suggestions? Do I need to replace the control board?
Thank you!
Update:
I ran the diagnostic cycle again and I can definitely hear water splashing around in there. After this finishes I will try running another Normal cycle and if that doesn't work I am going to assume it's the control board.

MangoGT, Did you ever find a solution for the problem? My Quiet Partner III is doing the exact same thing. I have already tried cleaning the sump and chopper.
Thanks,
Matt

Yes. Unfortunately, I had to replace the pump/motor assembly. I called a technician for a $15 visit to double check my diagnostic suspicion, but I did all of the work on my own. It's not easy but it's definitely possible.

Hi MangoGT,
I guess now I'm a little confused, you posted that above in 2008 when I was helping you, but you just told Matt that fixed it?
