Default Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1 No Power

I have a quiet partner 1 that has no power. I Opened up the front panel and temorarily got power back but none of the selection buttons worked and it lost power again. The model number is DU1055xtsQ1. Any ideas?

Thanks

Larry

Hi Larry,

I use my volt meter to test for 120 volts at the thermal fuse first, if you get 120 volts, then turn the power off to your dishwasher and ohm test the thermal fuse.

Here's the thermal fuse for your model:
Manufacturer part number 661663 is RepairClinic item number 1176509
661663

Your thermal fuse is #6 here:

Just remove the 6 #8 screws on the inside of your control panel, then you can access it.

I use an ohm meter to test continuity on the thermal fuse. If no continuity, then its bad.

You can get a cheap volt/ohm meter at Radio Shack if you don't have one.

Default Micro Switch

Hi,

Is it possible that one of the micro switchs that controls the door is bad?

Yes, To check the micro switches use an ohm meter to do a continuity check on them. Make sure the power is off to your dishwasher first.

Also disconnect the wires to the micro switches before you ohm them for continuity.

Default Thernal Fuse

Hello,

I took at the thermal fuse to check for continuity. Should be open or shut when I put it on the tester?

Thanks,

Larry

The thermal fuse should show closed in your ohm meter.

An open thermal fuse means its bad.

Default Thermal Fuse

Hi,

The fuse reads closed. So I guess it is working properly. Any other ideas as to what is wrong?

Did you test for 120 volts at thermal fuse or door switches?

If no 120 volts, I'd check the electrical connector at the bottom of your dishwasher were your main house power supply hooks up to it, I've found many times the wire nuts have burned and shorted out, thus no power to anything in the dishwasher.

I replaced the thermal fuse and the unit powered briefly however no off the control buttons worked and after about 2 minutes the unit turned off and could not be restarted. While it was on it acted as if it was in wash mode. Any ideas.

I'm not sure what else it could be.

You'll probably need to have either Whirlpool come out or a reputable appliance repair company to see whats going on.
