Default Question on door gasket for GU1500XT

Hi Jake and all! Got my new pump/motor assembly in today so am installing it. When I pulled the door off, I noticed the gasket that's installed in the tub face was in really poor shape. So, come here of course to find a replacement. However, I found two items and am confused as to which one is the right one.

The parts list shows a "cabinet seal":
item 830933
looks like this:

then the part list shows a "door gasket":
Manufacturer part number 8268888 is RepairClinic item number 830915
looks like this:
8268888

Now I don't see a gasket on my door at all, will be glad to post a photo. The only gasket I see is on the tub itself and these pics aren't detailed enough to compare them to what I just pulled off my tub. So which one is the right one? I'm assuming the cabinet seal, but want to make sure.

Measured the length of the seal I pulled off the unit and took some photos. It's approximately 73" in length. Has an interesting shape on the side that plugs into the tub.

Four photos are, left to right, where the gasket fits in the door, a view of the condition up close, the entire gasket in the shape of how it fits in the tub, and a close-up of the shape.

Yes, you need the tub gasket(aka door gasket).

This is it:
Manufacturer part number 8268888 is RepairClinic item number 830915
looks like this:

Okay, I'll order that one. Well, got the new pump and motor assembly installed, was just as you've said in several places here. While I had the chance I took the door off and cleaned everything to look like new.

Got it all reassembled, looks like I just bought it. Did a quick wash and ..uh oh... a flood... I reinstalled the drain pump onto the motor housing just as it came off. No problems, it seated well, turned and locked into place. However, water is almost spraying out of it as soon as the tub begins to fill. Obviously I've got to take it off again, but any other suggestions? The o-ring looked allright, I lubed it a tiny bit to insure it seated without pinching, took great care to insure it was back on. Pulled the entire tub 1/2 way out so I could tip it back. I don't see any marring, scuffs, cracks or any damage around it that would cause it to leak this badly, so looking for any suggestions.

Sounds like you almost got it Robinh.

Get a flashlight or floodlight to see if you can pinpoint were its leaking at.

Just be patient with it. You'll find it.

Make sure the 3 plastic locking tabs are back in place under the sump/tub assembly.

I'm pulling the unit forward and tilting it back at just a slight angle to watch. Copious amounts of water are coming out around the pump motor mount, and it's on there with all three tabs under as should be. Had to get the book out to make sure that I didn't maybe leave something out, but nope, there's nothing else there but the o-ring on the pump motor. Is there supposed to be an o-ring on the opposing housing? There is a slot, but no o-ring in the new assembly I received.

The water is coming out for that 5 second flush when the fill cycle just starts up...

I don't know why I ever question anything Jake tells me. Been on here for quite a while, have undertaken many projects under his tutelage, have saved literally thousands of dollars... Let this be a lesson to all those who come behind me, he know's what he's talking about!

Jake, just pulled it off, put it back on, and all is well, not a drop of leakage. Must not have seated it properly the first time. Thanks again, another successful repair under your fine guidance!!! I'll be ordering a few more items to include that door gasket, I notice about every 5th spin of the washer arm just a tiny drop leaking out of the lower right corner of the door where the gasket is most heinously damaged.

Jake, do you mind if I post a link back to your site from all my web sites? I'll make some kind of banner that's got a hyperlink directing to your site. Hope it brings you more subscribers and clients...

Have finished three full loads on three separate settings to run through all the setups and insure everything is working. Wife says it's the best it's ever cleaned and we were sitting in the family room not 30' from it, it's in the center island in the kitchen, and couldn't hear it running. Been a while since we've had a dishwasher that quiet!!!

Thanks Jake, YOU DA MAN!!!

Hey Jake, the plastic piece, thin cover thingy over the front control panel, is falling apart. The control panel works fine, but just that plastic piece with the writing on it is cracking up. Any way to just replace that piece?

I find this:
Part 941404 from RepairClinic.com

But I don't see it necessary to replace the whole panel?!?!
