Default Bake unit stays on, RF360BXDW0

Hi,

I recently had to replace the lower bake unit after it melted and arced (it was an impressive sight!). However, now when I select "bake", the element always stays on, even though I can hear the thermostat clicking when the selected temperature is reached. Even with the thermostat in the off position, the element is on. Only when I set the 5-selection switch away from "bake" does it turn off.

Do I still need to replace the whole thermostat assembly, 3169526?

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes, you'll need the whole thermostat assembly too.

Here's the cheapest one I found for your model you can order:

Update: Never mind: it's right there in front of me on the panel! I'll let you know how it works out.

Thank you very much. I ordered and have received the part. I am in the process of installing it. I got distracted in the middle, and I messed up the wiring. What is the correct wiring for it?

Thanks!

Its #19 here:

The wiring should be the same as the old one. Just mark down were you take the wires off the old one, and put them on the new one the same.

Thanks for all your help. It's in and working and the ceremonial first turkey is cooking.

FYI, I bought the part from http://www.appliancepartspros.com. It was delivered quickly, and the price was slightly less than searsparts.com.

See you again when the washing machine breaks. :-)
